| There were great plans for this Church that got its start just as America entered the Great War. And with the hardships of war they were not able raise sufficient funds to complete the church. Instead a 'temporary' wooden structure was raised over the foundation and the sanctuary was moved into the basement. |

| These are the stairs from the main entrance leading down into the sanctuary. |
| However, inside the church is bright and does not leave you with a sensation of being below ground level. | |
