If
you are familiar with Tom Dudzick's popular Over the Tavern trilogy of
plays you will recall numerous references to St. Casimir's.
Indeed the series last play is titled, The Last Mass at St.
Casimir's. As Mark Twain would say the title
"is an exaggeration" as St. Casimir's is very much alive
and well. |

The
inspiration for this church is Sancta
Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. Sancta Sophia or Hagia Sophia has a fascinating
history and is the most significant surviving example of
original Byzantine architecture. |
